The Totalitarian Time: Minuteman's Liberty Clock

Other patriots online have proposed that we Americans need to employ a “Liberty Clock” as an indicator of the fragility of our Constitutional freedoms and liberty according to the original wishes of the Founders. Midnight on the clock would represent utter bondage with a veritable dictatorship under our federal government. Based on the legislative and governmental actions over the past 9 years, we ought to set the minute hand on our new clock to 50 minutes, or a set time of 11:50pm.

We have lost too many liberties, piecemeal, over the last 96 years. The staggering sum of what we have lost during this period has compelled me to place the minute hand at the 50 minute setting. If the Congress passes the health care “reform” legislation, then I will move the minute hand accordingly at that time. Similarly, if they pass cap-and-trade legislation and new, expansive spending measures (even if they increase the Federal debt limit) I will adjust the time in relation to “Liberty Doomsday” as well.

Conversely, if we were to have a successful 2nd American Revolution, with the attendant restoration of both our Constitutionally-enumerated liberties and our unenumerated Rights, I would set the Liberty Clock at 7:00 to represent the daytime of unfettered freedom.

Freedom certainly isn’t free and we don’t have much time left as free-born citizens with unfettered Constitutional rights, like the good old days of even 50 years ago. For me it’s high time that we start keeping track of the proximity to "Liberty Doomsday" posed by the anti-Constitutional actions of our elected 'non'-representatives.

Because the original "doomsday clock" implies nuclear armageddon at midnight, a clock that gauges our proximity to totalitarian government should likewise refer to the result of "allowing the clock to run out". So, the proposed 'Liberty Clock' will be officially measured in totalitarian time.

Americans have been accustomed to thinking of Liberty in terms defined by those who would legislate our Rights out of existence. Liberty is the unrestrained exercise of Natural Rights. A Right is anything an individual chooses to do, with their bodies or their property, either alone or with the voluntary participation of others, that doesn't infringe on the natural rights of others to engage in that same freedom; and the legitimate purpose of government is to protect and facilitate those Rights.

Categories that would affect the resetting of totalitarian time are as follows:

* Legislation

* Presidential Exceutive Orders

* Court rulings

* Military activity

* Activities of large multinational corporations, banks, or foundations

* Foreign governments, proxies, and international organizations (the United Nations and its many offices and affiliates).

* Activities of American citizens relating to any of the above

Criteria for resetting the clock are:

* Socially or historically significant

* Impacts the liberty of people everywhere

* Duration of the impact is more than momentary

* Sets precedent either in law, governmental practices, or behavior of the population

July 29, 2010 - 2nd time change!

In December 2009, The clock was moved from 11:50 to 11:55. I wrote that the Obama healthcare bill represented the biggest expansion and intrusion of government since the Patriot Act and Homeland Security. This legislation fulfills all four initial criteria for the resetting of totalitarian time: It has special impacts on our economy, the biggest single tax increase package ever in the history of the nation, provisions that would give your private health data to federal law enforcement agencies including the BATFE, thus making this bill the biggest gun-control legislation of the 21st Century. It also gives the BATFE the power to decide who is medically qualified to own and use a firearm! However, not only did the healthcare bill pass, which instantly sent the economy into a dive, it also has stalled the efforts of private enterprise at all levels to create new jobs. It will kill most small businesses as the bill is implemented. It has caused an immediate jump in the federal budget deficit (trillions!), and increased the official national debt by nearly a trillion.

However, the official national debt ($13.8T as of 7-29-10) is but a fraction of the total "unfunded liability" debt of the USA - the TRUE national debt figure, which stands at a staggering $75 Trillion Dollars. This is the tyranny of fractional reserve banking! Yet, America fails to grasp that fractional reserve banking only serves to enrich bankers while impoverishing the debtor. This is evidenced by the amount of consumer debt that Americans have defaulted on, or are struggling to maintain payments on. If every American living today had to pay their portion of the full national debt, not only would they have to pay the federal government 100% of their wages, they would die of old age or illness before that portion is paid. That portion (as of 7-29-2010) stands at $243,000.00 and would be compounded annually not only for interest, but the additional debt that our spendaholic politicians heave upon us without our consent. Oh, and if you think you can live without paying, IRS men with badges and guns will come for you to FORCE YOU to pay, at the expense of your very liberty if need be!

If THAT weren't enough, recent events at our border with Mexico threaten to spill into general violence. We have lost control over our borders due to the willful refusal of America's federal government; we have foreign troops and narcoterrorists violating our territorial sovereignty with impunity, tens of millions of illegal aliens entering the USA and taking up permanent residence, American citizens are being kidnapped and/or murdered by these foreigners, and an increasing population within our borders that is becoming more hostile to our culture, language, laws and society with every passing year. If allowed to go unchecked for much more, the deteriorating situation will likely culminate in civil war in America... and that unless Americans either avert or prepare for this outcome, it will most likely be the final nail in the coffin of Liberty ...and we're only a couple away at that!

Consequently, totalitarian time is advanced to 11:58. America is 2 minutes from Tyranny.
