HOW COULD 50 STATES BE WRONG?

Somewhere along the way, the Federal Courts and the Supreme Court have trashed the U.S. Constitution based on a private letter written by Thomas Jefferson, misintrepreting that letter's comment about the separation of Church and State, when Jefferson meant that The Constitution would prohibit the State from interfering in eccesiastical matters.  How could fifty States be wrong?

THIS IS VERY INTERESTING! Be sure to read the last two paragraphs. America's founders did not intend for there to be a separation of God and state, as shown by the fact that all 50 states acknowledge God in their state constitutions:

After reviewing acknowledgments of God from all 50 state constitutions, one is faced with the prospect that maybe, just maybe, the ACLU and the out-of-control federal courts are wrong!

"Those people who will not be governed by God will be ruled by tyrants." -- William Penn

"The highest glory of the American Revolution was this; it connected in one indissoluble bond the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity." -- John Quincy Adams

"...I am persuaded that no civil government of a republican form can exist and be durable, in which the principles of Christianity have not a controlling influence."  - James Madison
Is America A Christian Nation?
Yes, and there's room for non-Christians who love Liberty

By Wiliam Flatt- March 29, 2004

"It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ!  For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship." - Patrick Henry

Dear Mr. Flatt:

I came across your site because someone emailed me YES, I'M A BAD AMERICAN by George Carlin so I looked it up...
http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=YES%2C+I%27M+A+BAD+AMERICAN&fr=my_top

On page http://www.minutemanpatriot.homestead.com/Patriot.html, you say "most important I am a Christian."  That implies that Jews (and Hindus and Buddhists) aren't patriots, Yet you endorse Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership.

Support of gun ownership is only one way these non-Christian groups demonstrate their patriotism.

Sincerely,

Professor M______ G________

Dear Professor M.G.:

Thanks for writing about my website.  Although I affirm my faith as a Christian, you claim that my statements imply that non-Christians are not patriots.  This is so completely untrue.  I believe that the
exercise of my faith does not create a conflict with non-Christians who also wish to preserve, uphold, and defend Liberty.  Many people are mistaken in the idea that being Christian is synonymous with religious intolerance.  Yet I stand by my belief that in order to be a patriot of the first degree, I must necessarily acknowledge our Creator and Redeemer.  Therefore, it is true that the most important thing to me in being a patriot is in being a Christian.

For that, no apology should be needed.

Why, in fact, should apologies be made?  Christianity does not seek enmity with other religions, yet people of other religions seek enmity with Christians.  If it is because they are pricked in their hearts or offended, they need to ask themselves why, rather than rail against Christians and condemn them for the sincere expression of their inalienable Right.  Why is it that in modern society, it is OK to place a symbol of religious expression in public places as long as it's not Christian, but Christians are not welcome to even wear apparel on their own bodies expressing their faith while in public?  Why do certain people, whether they be Jewish or not (or even atheist), attack a movie made by a Christian that depicts an historical event central to the Christian faith?  These things disturb me because there is no just cause for people to do this.  I am not surprised though, because Jesus Himself said that people would persecute me for His namesake.

In our postmodern society, it has become fashionable to disparage fundamentalist Christians and hardcore patriots.  Since 9-11, patriotism became fashionable again, and this has taken the fun out of bashing people who reverently quote our nation's founders while toting guns and dressed in camouflage.  Just the same, even though there has been no "Christian holocaust" as of yet, if there were I am sure there'd be those who would blame it on the victims for "being inflexible in their beliefs"; for that is the argument already being used by the mainstream press and society's elites against activist Christians.

Consider the following:
"Fundamental,Bible-believing people do not have the right to indoctrinate their children in their religious beliefs because we, the state, are preparing them for the year 2000, when America will be part of a one-world global society and their children will not fit in."
- Nebraska State Senator, Peter Hoagland on radio in 1983

"A cultist is anyone who...Has a strong belief in the Bible & the second coming of Christ; who frequently attends Bible studies; who has a high level of giving to Christian causes; who home schools their children; who have accumulated survival foods and have a strong belief in the 2nd amendment; and distrusts big government.  Any one of these may qualify a person as a cultist and is cause for concern, but certainly more than one of these would cause us to look at this person as a threat and his  family as being in a risk situation that would require government intervention."
- Janet Reno, in a statement made June 26, 1994, on the TV show '60 Minutes'.

Apparently, these people would appear to have some sort of animus toward about 75% of the nation's genuine Christians, for whom all of the above (and more) most likely apply.

Because this is a predominately Christian nation, and because we are a predominately Christian people, I do not believe we ought to pretend otherwise.  The republican form of government established by our nation's founders is distinct.  No manmade government in the history of this world has ever before formed a limited, constitutional, representative republic; and the only historical basis for the form of government adopted by our forefathers is to be found in Isaiah 33.  As a result, no nation in the world has ever had such a heritage of liberty as ours.  Let me say that again:  Our Constitutional Republic is explicitly and unabashedly based on the Word of God.... it is based on His model of government described in Isaiah 33:22, consisting of three distinct but equal branches of government.

In fact, I share the opinion of Patrick Henry concerning the Christian roots of American heritage and its' role in the development of our nation;   "It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ!  For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship."

Other founders are on the record concerning our national heritage:

"The highest glory of the American Revolution was this; it connected in one indissoluble bond the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity." - John Quincy Adams

"...I am persuaded that no civil government of a republican form can exist and be durable, in which the principles of Christianity have not a controlling influence."  - James Madison

I have many quotes pages on my website, and the quotes of our founders affirming that the United States was founded as a Christian nation are on the following page:
http://minutemanpatriot.homestead.com/Quotes_Christian.html

I believe that patriotism is not merely the love of our nation, or of our Constitution.  Patriotism is the willingness to speak up, dissent that which is 'politically correct', and expose error.
"It is not the function of our government to keep the citizen from falling into error, it is the function of the citizen to keep the government from falling into error."
- United States Supreme Court in American Communications Association v. Douds

Nonetheless, I appreciate your having taken the time to read my article, and I will sleep well knowing that this particular commentary is still generating a lot of hits on the web.

Editorial note: Whether you, the reader, are Christian, Jewish, or even Muslim, we all acknowledge the present reality that there is a Creator. Whatever in particular we may believe, it is by His grace and mercy that we have a nation that was, and can still be, One Nation under Him...  As long as we give Him our first allegiance, He will bless us; heal our land; unite us under Him; and bestow upon us the blessings of LIBERTY.  For any people who are moral, just, and believe in a creator, we have common ground.  Those who promote globalist humanism, dialectical materialism, and international socialism are our common foe.  When decent people do nothing, darkness prevails; we must act!

Long Live the Republic! Death to the New World Order! We shall prevail.
